{SHOW NOW EXTENDED UNTIL 14TH NOVEMBER 2021}

Lydia Beanland’s hand painted works will be on display at Bloomsbury Design at 61b Judd Street.

A selling exhibition of hand painted mounts, paintings and objects. This window exhibition showcases her most recent collection of work, which has developed over the last year. Inspired by the Byzantine dome ceilingsof Ravenna, the rich blues and golds of Medieval illuminated manuscripts and the vaulted ceilings and frescoes of Italy.

As a Designer, Lydia reacts to form, often spontaneously either through painting, printing, hand cut collage, the negative space of a picture mount or the pearlescent ridges of a discarded shells. These Oyster Shells were firstly used as her paint palettes, holding gold pigment and ultramarine. Made permanent and precious through adornment.

Bloomsbury Design was established in 2006 by Christiane Ten-Hoopen and Hugh Cullum (Hugh Cullum Architects). It is a window gallery, open for sales on weekdays during office hours, and open to view 24 hours a day from the street.
